Express Mail Service (EMS) Prohibitions

Shipments may not contain the following:

  • explosives
  • flammable materials
  • radioactive materials
  • corrosive substances
  • dry ice
  • compressed gases
  • drugs
  • poisons
  • pirated and counterfeit products
  • cigars, cigarettes and tobacco
  • antiquities (including ancient coins, rare books and forms of historical value) without permission from the competent authority
  • artworks
  • pornographic material (print or electronic)
  • arms
  • active credit cards
  • monetary values
  • passports
  • perishable food
  • animals (living or dead) and plants
  • gold, platinum and precious stones in any form
  • blood without proper packaging and a relevant certificate in English from a competent doctor or hospital that it is not infectious
  • medicines, when not accompanied by a medical prescription in the English language, which must state in detail the quantity, the name of the medicines and the use for which they are intended
  • items that by their nature or because of their packaging are at risk of self-destruction or damage to other items
  • items subject to export duty, without an export permit from the Customs Service
  • items that are prohibited from being imported and served by the country of destination according to the LIST OF PROHIBITED ITEMS ELTA
  • items whose handling and transport is not accepted by IATA

FOR COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION, GOODS OUTSIDE THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN INVOICE TO FACILITATE THEIR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE.

The "Declared Value" Service is offered only to customers with a contract and after a relevant written agreement.

Wooden box packaging to the USA they are only accepted if synthetic wood has been used, such as MDF and marine plywood. NATURAL WOOD PACKAGING IS NOT ACCEPTED.
